Today, we are joined by Cody Benedetto, who quit his job just over two months ago. He started his career working with a small energy efficiency company in Connecticut before shifting over to the job searching platform called Indeed. After 7 years, Cody moved into a new role at Datto, which focused on data recovery in the cyber security space. Cody was able to work his way up the corporate ladder and by the end, he was managing 4-5 teams with around 80 people under him.

While Cody was progressing through his career, he always knew he wanted to have something of his own. He started consuming as much content as he could on topics, such as real estate investing, starting a business, etc. Cody and his business partner, Ryan Serkes, ended up buying a rental property in Florida. With trying to find more investment opportunities, they built and launched software product to analyze rental properties called Propel.

Things progressed pretty quickly and over a year period, Cody purchased a new home, rented his old condo, purchase a rental property in Florida, started a new job at Datto, and was building a startup on the side. All of these experiences culminated in started to think about how he could quit his full-time job to start his own business.

Cody and Ryan took what they learned from building and launching their own product and wanted to help other people do the same. Two months ago, Cody quit his full-time job to start a software development agency called Modern Launch. They’ve hit the ground running and are already building apps and websites for clients.

Most importantly, Cody has felt like he has taken control of his schedule. His top priority is spending more time with his wife and newborn daughter. He is focused on building Modern Launch to be financially stable while focusing on the top of lifestyle he and his family want.
